Centipede on Steroids

Today I was in my room cleaning and I looked on the wall and saw this
A house centipede on steroids! I cant believe I took the time to take a picture of it before killing it. Yes I am one of those people who kills spiders, flies and other eight legged (or rather 100 legged in this case) bugs without loosing sleep at night. In fact, I think it makes me sleep better. So, I killed the disgusting creature with this
I was too scared to squash it with a shoe, so I grabbed my kitchen cleaner amd it turns out, 409 really is an ALL PURPOSE cleaner as well as an effective pest control.

BMW Root Beer

Last week we went to the BMW Factory. However, we THOUGHT we were going to the A&W Root Beer Factory. Wrong. Well, they sound similar. We took a tour of the place and watched a car get built from scratch to the final product. Lucky me, now I know how the brake pedal gets mounted in your car. No free root beer samples were passed out.

Here are some old-school BMW's. The people MUST have been so much smaller back then because I dont think even my left leg would fit in this car!

Yay for Weekends

We love the weekends because its the only time we get to hang out and have a "normal" life. The office reached their goal for the dinner incentive, so we all (yes, all 44 reps and techs) went to dinner at Logan's Roadhouse (its like Texas Roadhouse.... but not quite as good).
On Sunday we went downtown and walked around Falls Park. There is a cute cafe that overlooks the waterfall that I hope we get to go to before we leave for North Carolina.

This 'N That

Little Switzerland, NC
Last Friday I drove to Little Switzerland, NC to hang out with Nicole! On the way there, my GPS would not locate Little Switzerland. After my 3rd stop at a gas station to make sure I was going the right way, I finally broke down and bought a giant map of North Carolina. 2 diet cokes, a rice crispy treat and 3 hours later, I arrived. It was SO beautiful. I wish I would have taken more pictures. Nicole and I went for a hike on Saturday moring to this waterfall. It reminded me a LOT of Midway, UT and felt a lot like home. Thanks to Nicole and her in-laws for sharing their home with me for a couple of days.
On Sunday we had a BBQ at the pool with all the guys from the office. Sunday is their only day off, and it was great to relax by the pool.

The boys played a little water basketball.

While the wives mingled. I love these girls!

Yes, we're alive!

Its been SOOOOO long since I've posted anything on here.... and apparently I forgot how to post things in the right order. So, for this to make sense, you will need to read this post from the bottom up!

We moved to South Carolina on April 25th and Im still trying to figure my way around the town. I still get lost about once a week.... but its an adventure! My favorite thing about the pace so far are the people. They are incredibly nice and have great southern accents.

Before I headed to graduation, Dave and I decided we would ship both of our cars out to South Carolina for the summer. Here is my car getting backed onto the trailer. I thought the guy was going to run my car right off the truck! You should have seen all the disgusting bugs on the back of my windshield when it finally arrived to me in SC after traveling backwards over 2000 miles.

My family.... and yes, as normal.... my eyes are closed! We could not have moved out of our apartment in 2 days without all of their help. Daves sister pretty much packed my kitchen, his mom packed Daves room and my mom and sisters cleaned our entire apartment for us, while Dave and my Dad moved everything to a giant storage unit. I am dreading to unpack that thing when we get back.

On Friday, April 24th, I finally graduated from BYU! My whole family along with my grandparents came to visit and it was a blast. Dave and I were both extremely sick this day, so, that is why we look somewhat out of it in these pics.

Thank Goodness for Little Sisters

MONSTERS VS. ALIENSI have been telling Dave I wanted to go see this movie when it came out, but I couldnt really convince him on going. Dave went to Nevada over the weekend and so I am happy I have two little sisters so I had an excuse to go see the movie. My mom and I laughed probably more than anyone in the entire theatre. However, its a good thing I didnt drag Dave to this one, because I dont think he would have appreciated it the way I did. Maybe one day I'llgrow up, but for now, Im still 7 years old inside and loved it!

Girls Night

Tiffany was in Salt Lake for a nursing convention so I met up with her and April at the Gateway.
It made me kind of sad that I didnt just stick out two more semesters and finish my nursing degree. But, then I remembered all the "poopy" stories, and I was suddenly ok.
Then we ate dinner at Red Rock. Muy Delicioso.

Taken

We tried to see Taken on opening night but apparently showing up 20 minutes before the movie starts is a bad idea. So, after failing on our first attempt, we decided to do the online thing and not risk it being sold out again. We showed up an hour before the movie started and somehow still ended up toward the back of the line.

It was well worth the wait. It was one of Dave's favorite movies in a LONG time. If you have'nt seen it.... you definitely need to!

Anniversary Quesadilla

Last Sunday was our 2 month anniversary.
I made salmon and coconut shrimp for lunch after church. For dinner, Dave then decided he would make me something. This is what he made....

Yes. Its a Quesadilla with a mint in the middle!

Mr. and Mrs. Madsen (still kinda weird!)

One of my favorite pictures of us

He had no idea what he was in for!

I swore I would NEVER do a picture like this and well, here are the rings!
(and my middle finger looks like a nub, but really I still have all 5 fingers!)

My 15 year old brother wanted to play a few songs at our reception.
So, he stepped in and gave our other wedding singer a drink break.
It was a perfect wedding present.

besties...

My mom designed and made their dresses. I love how they turned out!

Alicia, Kelli, Janessa, Megan, Dad, Mom, Jes, Dave, Cathy, John, Matt, Kyleur, Ryan and Jake. Whew.

Best cake ever. Seriously. The top was key lime with cream cheese filling.
The middle was red velvet with bavarian cream filling.
The bottom was pumpkin chocolate chip with cream cheese filling.
Yum.

Honeymoon in Maui

I could not have asked for a more perfect place to honeymoon! I love Maui. We rented a little Chevy Cobalt (which is my opinion has the absolute WORST turning radius in the history of vehicles… no offense if you drive one, but you could be driving a semi-truck and have a better turning radius!) and began our journey in Maui. We stayed at the Sheraton on Kaanapali Beach in an oceanfront view hotel room. In efforts to make my bag fit the 50 lb max, I accidentally took my camera out and left it in the car. We had to buy a couple disposable cameras from an ABC store. They are not the best quality, but at least we have pictures! We spent most of our time playing on the beach or shopping at Whalers Village. Dave even talked me into swimming out to the black rock to jump off. I am a giant pansy and so I only jumped off the small cliff while David, being all macho, jumped off the highest cliff. We spent Thanksgiving dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise watching the sunset and eating a big ol juicy hamburger. Amazing. We loved it so much, we went back the next night.

Happily Ever After

On November 25, 2008 I married my Prince Charming. We had the most perfect day ever! We were married in the Salt Lake Temple at 10:20 in the morning. Then we did all the routine family pictures before heading over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where we had an amazing luncheon. All of the months of planning definitely paid off. Everything turned out beautiful. I especially love how the center pieces that Cathy made turned out. After the luncheon, Dave and I headed over to the reception center at Heritage Gardens. We have the most amazing friends and family because by the time we arrived, everything was already put together. The cake, the food, the flowers, the candy buffet, and all the decorations were exactly how I wanted them. The reception was scheduled to begin at 6pm, but ten minutes before there was already a line forming out the door! We had so many guests it was absolutely crazy. Finally at 9 o’clock (an hour later than planned) the line died down and Dave and I were able to make our escape! We were absolutely starving so our first stop was a Maverick to buy some food. Well, we came out with Gatorade and a few boxes of candy and a bag of chips! Luckily, right next to our hotel was a Carl’s Junior where we were able to order some real food! Finally back at the Marriot we were able to relax.
